E's b-day bash

I had such a great day this past Friday! First, this gorgeous bouquet of flowers from my favorite twin sister came to my door. I LOVE them!

Doesn't this look like it's from the stone ages? Or maybe from the ocean?

Lil' boy appreciating the flower wrapping.

Friday evening, a bunch of my friends and I went to the St. Paul Saints game for my birthday celebration. It's this great minor league baseball team here in St. Paul and they are so much fun to watch. I know what you guys are thinking: What the heck is Erin doing at a baseball game on her birthday? And she selected this for her big day of the year? Yep. I did. It's weird but I like them. It's more than just baseball. It's getting together with lots of people and just having fun. (Being outside at a baseball game is just about as good as it gets when it comes to sports). Anyway, we grilled out for a couple of hours before the game.

Kaleb, Shelby, Jen and Shelly hanging out.

Josh, Rachelle, Curtis and Jamie.

I'm cuttin' the cake.

Kaleb acting like Ricky Bobby (I don't know what to do with my hands).

Saints game in action. We won 8-2!

I'm so cool I got my name on the jumbo screen! I'm famous!

Another thanks so my wonderful friend, Jen. She put the whole thing together and did such a spectacular job. I will never forget this wonderful celebration! I'm so blessed to have you
as a friend!

This was only the second Father's Day weekend I have been away from home, and I would like to say we made the most of it. There were numerous races on TV, from the F1 USGP, to the World Superbike races at Misano. Fully four hours of racing on TV. Or, if you want to look at it another way, four full hours of naptime...

It was a good weekend up here in Minnesota though, the weather was a balmy 90, but it was not that bad. I hung around the house and read on Saturday while E went over to the Stone Arch Art Festival with some of the other girls that she knows up here. I had an impromptu BBQ with some of the guys and we all hung out afterward for a bit until everyone decided to go home and take a nap. Sunday I started my day in about the sweatiest manner I could, by doing Yoga in a 90 degree room. It was really good, and some of my soreness from Friday's session was washed away on Sunday. Upon returning home we started planning a trip to the beach with some of our friends. It turned out to be a so-so day for the beach. It was REALLY windy, so we were getting sandblasted the whole time, but the weather and water were nice. Note to self: bring shoes for the water, the bottom is REALLY rocky. We had another, more slightly planned BBQ on Sunday night, and I got my first really good steak in a long time. We cooked up some corn on the cob and had that awesome ramen noodle salad. To top it all off, we watched 'Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy' and called it a night.

That was our eventful weekend.

Happy Father's day to all the baby-daddys out there!

We stopped in last night to our loft to check out the progress, and to look a the stain on the cabinets, and the granite was in!! Not only that, but the original granite that we had selected for the kitchen that we thought we were not going to get was in! So now we have the Carmello Onamental in the kitchen and the new unnamed granite in the bathrooms. It also looked like they were getting set to start tiling the bathrooms and laundry room, they had already poured the shower floors and the step over into the showers, so we are hoping to see tile soon!!

I must say that this is much more interesting now that things are different each time we go over there. For a while we would go check it out and spend 20 minutes trying to figure out what was different, now it is glaringly obvious each time we go in, this is soooo much more fun.

Anyway, E should have more photos up soon of the granite in the kitchen and the master bath.
Hello Carmello!

Ok. So we thought we couldn't get the Carmello granite due to it being on a boat and never coming to port. Well, we went to our loft yesterday to look at the cabinets again and lo and behold, there it was in the kitchen! Yeah! We love it. We got the other granite in the bathrooms (pretty similar without all of the taupe and more active pattern).

The cabinets are a little bit of an issue at the moment. We didn't realize we would be looking at the pattern used at the factory to apply the stain. We have a couple calls in so everything should work out just fine.

It's so much fun to see everything coming together! I can't believe it's happening so fast. They claim we can move in next month - even though we can't until October.
