The Tower Of Power

As most of you know, our cats have been a little naughty lately. Well, it happened again last Friday. Not sure how one of them got into the bedroom (we've been shutting the door) but Josh laid down to go to sleep and found a nice wet spot. For some reason they like to go on J's side of the bed ... Those cats almost got a boot off the balcony had I not been there. I really thought we would be visiting a shelter and saying goodbye to our babies the next day.

Well, you can see from the pics below they got a new toy. Josh calls it the Tower of Power. Immediately little girl claimed it as hers and fought little big boy off even when he was just sniffing it. They didn't go anywhere near it for a couple days (we think due to the smell of the nylon fabric). Now they play and sleep in it all the day long.

One thing I would like to point out is this: Josh was seeing red just a few nights ago due to cat pee and when we went to Target on Tuesday, who was the one grabbing the kit for the kitties? Hmmm. Now who's the softy?

I'm really thinking of peeing the bed and seeing what I get. Diamonds maybe?

So, I have been spending the last few weekends working on the Ducati to get it the rest of the way to being rideable, and it is finally running. It turns out that during the accident the wires to the fuel pump got severed, and while Travis put it back together, it seems that Ducati changes the wiring colors 'almost weekly' according to the local tech, so, it is no wonder that it didnt work. After re-wiring the fuel pump a few times, and finally getting it right, I tried the starter, and she fired up after only a few revolutions. Man, was it great to hear her running again!

I took her for a ride around the parking garage and pretty quickly surmised that the clutch was toast. It seems that the clutch I bought was worn out, and was even missing parts, so I have a new Barnett on order. Hopefully that will be close to the last thiing to get this show on the road. I just need to change the oil and put in a new oil pressure sensor and all of the issues that I know of will be fixed.

On another note, I met a guy this week who is racing in the local Minnesota series, CRA, and they have an 'endurance' (2 hours) race this weekend at Brainerd. I am going to go and my friend Kurt has determined that he wants to work the corners, so I may be doing that as well. It should be an interesting weekend, it looks like the series runs almost exclusively at Brainerd, so everyone is going to be a track expert. We have not yet decided if we are going to do both days, but if we work the corners, camping is free, so we might just stay. I'm kind of hoping that the guy I met asks me to ride for them, but since my license has expired, I think that would be along the lines of 'fat chance'. Oh well, maybe next time. The track is only a couple of hours away and might just be my new favorite place to go. If I get a chance to race up there and get fast enough, I just may have to throw down the gauntlet to the big brother and see if I can get the T-rav up here to throw down.

I'll let you know how it goes...

OK. So I just had one of the best weeks of my life.

As some of you know, Megan got engaged! 8 days ago to be exact. And we all just LOVE Dan. Yeah!

On the day Megan got engaged, our wonderful friends, Lindsey and Fahad called me with a grand plan to fly me in to Austin and surprise Megan at a celebratory dinner at the Clay Pot (indian food). I was their engagement present! What an honor! I am still smiling about the whole thing. Lindsey and Fahad are truly angels.

The night of the dinner I hid until Megan & Dan arrived and just walked up to the table asking if I could join their party. I wish I could have gotten Megan's face at that moment. It was a time I will never forget.

I've attached a bunch of photos of Megan's house. It's so inviting and I felt so at home. Her yard is incredible and will only get better after Megan gets through with it. They've created quite the sanctuary. Oh, and pics of Goose & Cleo (it's really their house ;).

The last picture here is of a group of people at Global corporate. I was lucky enough to get to take a course with 30 incredible people. It was amazing! I am SO blessed!!!!

Life is good!
