So, I have been spending the last few weekends working on the Ducati to get it the rest of the way to being rideable, and it is finally running. It turns out that during the accident the wires to the fuel pump got severed, and while Travis put it back together, it seems that Ducati changes the wiring colors 'almost weekly' according to the local tech, so, it is no wonder that it didnt work. After re-wiring the fuel pump a few times, and finally getting it right, I tried the starter, and she fired up after only a few revolutions. Man, was it great to hear her running again!

I took her for a ride around the parking garage and pretty quickly surmised that the clutch was toast. It seems that the clutch I bought was worn out, and was even missing parts, so I have a new Barnett on order. Hopefully that will be close to the last thiing to get this show on the road. I just need to change the oil and put in a new oil pressure sensor and all of the issues that I know of will be fixed.

On another note, I met a guy this week who is racing in the local Minnesota series, CRA, and they have an 'endurance' (2 hours) race this weekend at Brainerd. I am going to go and my friend Kurt has determined that he wants to work the corners, so I may be doing that as well. It should be an interesting weekend, it looks like the series runs almost exclusively at Brainerd, so everyone is going to be a track expert. We have not yet decided if we are going to do both days, but if we work the corners, camping is free, so we might just stay. I'm kind of hoping that the guy I met asks me to ride for them, but since my license has expired, I think that would be along the lines of 'fat chance'. Oh well, maybe next time. The track is only a couple of hours away and might just be my new favorite place to go. If I get a chance to race up there and get fast enough, I just may have to throw down the gauntlet to the big brother and see if I can get the T-rav up here to throw down.

I'll let you know how it goes...
